Why I got into triathlon: During my first year at Cal Poly, I wanted to run cross-country and track, but I couldn’t make the practices because of my class schedule. One of my best friends and I saw a poster for a triathlon team meeting and decided to check it out. We went to the first meeting and attempted to sign up for the mountain bike course at Wildflower.  It was sold out, so we decided we could handle the Olympic course (even though it was about two weeks away!) The race lasted a grueling 3½ hours, but after that I was hooked!
